Glen Spey – 2007-2024 17 Year Old Gordon & MacPhail Connoisseurs Choice Single Cask 16601503 (70cl, 55.5%)

A 17-year-old single cask Speyside single malt from Glen Spey, distilled in 2007 and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail on 31st October 2024 for its Connoisseurs Choice Cask Strength range. It comes in a 70cl bottle at a natural cask strength of 55.5% ABV. Matured in a refill Bourbon barrel, it yielded 232 bottles and is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. Glen Spey, established in Rothes in 1878, uses purifiers on its spirit stills, which encourages extra reflux during distillation. The nose brings lemon, honeysuckle, roasted peanuts and orange. On the palate come tropical fruit, butterscotch, black pepper and charred oak, and the finish carries pineapple and soft aniseed.
