Glen Wyvis – 2018 Pioneer Collection (53.9%)

This is a 2018 single malt from the Glen Wyvis distillery in the Highlands, bottled by Berry Bros. & Rudd at 53.9% abv as part of its Pioneer Collection, a series of spirits made climate-neutrally at their distilleries of origin. GlenWyvis was founded in 2015 as the first Scottish distillery run as a social enterprise for the benefit of its community. It stands on a ridge at the foot of Ben Wyvis and uses water, solar and biomass energy. The nose is fresh and fruity, with honeyed cantaloupe melon, warm gorse and green apples. The palate brings citrus, spiced pear, soft vanilla and crisp apple. Pine wood and cinnamon mark the finish.
