This is Glenallachie 10 Year Old, a cask strength single malt from Speyside, bottled as Batch 12 in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky was matured in Pedro Ximénez, Oloroso, red wine and virgin oak casks, and has a deep chestnut colour.
The nose has mocha, fig syrup and toasted hazelnuts, with honeycomb, dried red berries and a touch of molasses tart. The palate shows baking spices, brandied cherries and toffee sauce, followed by Black Forest gâteau, mocha and grilled honeycomb. Molasses and damson plum run through the finish.
