Glenallachie – 10 Year Old Pedro Ximenez Hogshead Single Cask 2015 (70cl)

Glenallachie 10 Year Old is a single cask Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle, matured in a Pedro Ximenez hogshead and bottled from that one cask at cask strength. Glenallachie bottles casks singly when they develop a distinctive character, so that the influence of the cask's history, oak and provenance comes through on its own. The nose is raisin butter, heather honey and plum syrup, with molasses-soaked orchard fruits, brown sugar and roasted hazelnuts. On the palate come plum, treacle and cherries, followed by Black Forest gateau, plum syrup and mocha.
