Glenallachie – 10 Year Old Single Cask Finish Bourbon Barrel 2014 (70cl)

This is a 10 year old single cask Speyside malt from Glenallachie, finished in a bourbon barrel and bottled at cask strength in a 70cl bottle. The distillery picks out casks that develop distinctive characters and bottles them individually, to show what each cask has given the spirit. The colour is golden barley. The nose offers toffee apples, butterscotch and honey buttercream, with mango, vanilla ice cream and tropical fruits. On the palate come white chocolate, cayenne pepper and mocha, then maraschino cherries, heather honey and fudge, with crystallised ginger and pineapple.
