A 12 year old Speyside single malt from GlenAllachie, bottled at a cask strength 59.2% in a 70cl bottle as a China exclusive. The whisky was distilled in 2014 and finished in bourbon, rye and virgin oak casks.
Each cask has its own part to play: bourbon casks bring vanilla, rye casks add sweet spice, and virgin oak adds a full-bodied toffee note. The result is an intense, richly flavoured whisky.
The nose combines vanilla, caramel and heather nectar with toffee syrup, gentle spice and fresh citrus. The palate opens with roasted honeycomb, almond sponge cake and vanilla, followed by apricot jam, warm cinnamon and dried orange peel.
