This is a 16-year-old GlenAllachie from Speyside, distilled in 2008 and bottled by Duncan Taylor at 54.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It was finished in a single PX sherry octave cask, and 83 bottles were filled.
Before the octave finish, the whisky showed fruit juice, lemon peel, grass, toffee apples and cream. Afterwards the notes turned to strawberry jam, rich sponge cake, ripe honeydew melon and caramelised pear, and the whisky became very sweet.
