This is the fourth batch of GlenAllachie's 21 Year Old, a cask strength Speyside single malt bottled at 51.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The batch was aged in just three PX puncheons from Jerez, Spain, and runs to 2000 bottles.
The colour is an intense mahogany and is natural, and the whisky is non-chill filtered. The 21 Year Old is one of GlenAllachie's oldest core expressions.
Clementine zest, raisins and honeycomb lead the nose, with cocoa, fruit cake and caramelised brown sugar. The palate brings baking spices, rich chocolate and heather honey, then treacle, orchard fruits and black cherries, closing on sweetened espresso.
