GlenAllachie – 30 Year Old Batch 3 (70cl, 48.9%)

This is the third batch of GlenAllachie's 30-year-old Speyside single malt, bottled at 48.9% ABV in a 70cl bottle. Master blender Billy Walker chose eight casks of PX sherry, Oloroso sherry and American virgin oak, holding whisky distilled in the early 1990s. The batch is limited to 2,400 bottles. It is non-chill filtered and of natural colour, with a deep mahogany tone. The nose brings roasted almonds, honey and orchard fruits, with worn leather, butterscotch, orange zest and dark chocolate. The palate has grape must, hazelnut and honeycomb, then citrus fruits, toffee brittle and ginger spice, with cinnamon and mocha on the finish.
