Glenallachie 8 Year Old is a Speyside single malt matured in Scottish oak, in a 70cl bottle at 48% ABV. Scottish oak is almost never used for whisky maturation because it is extremely difficult to cooper.
The Scottish Sessile oak shows immediately on the nose, alongside dark chocolate and zesty orange peel. Toasted oak lingers on the finish for minutes.
