Glenburgie – 10 Year Old, Gordon & MacPhail

Glenburgie 10 Year Old is a single malt selected and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail. It was matured in sherry casks, which give it a sweet character with caramel, vanilla and sugar. Glenburgie is a Speyside distillery, founded in 1810 at Alves in Moray and known as Kilnflat until 1878. Most of its output goes into blended whisky, so single malt bottlings from independent bottlers are an occasional find. The nose offers sherry and toffee with a rich, malty character. The palate follows with malt, sherry and vanilla, along with a little smoke and a nutty aftertaste.
