This Glenburgie is a 25 year old Speyside single malt from Wilson & Morgan, distilled in 1995 and bottled in 2020. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 51.4% ABV.
It matured slowly in a refill cask, so the wood adds little and the character comes from the spirit. The malt is honeyed, mineral, waxy and lightly flowery, with ripe tropical fruit such as banana, passion fruit and mango, plus vanilla and maple.
Green tea infusion and chamomile show on both nose and palate. A slightly peppery touch of tannin comes at the end of a velvety, fragrant finish.
