First-fill Palo Cortado sherry hogshead finish
This is a 30-year-old single cask Glenburgie, distilled in 1995 and selected by Signatory Vintage for its Symington's Choice range. It is bottled in a 70cl bottle at a natural cask strength of 50.2% ABV, without added colour or chill filtration, and 339 bottles were produced. Cask #217 was finished in a first-fill Palo Cortado sherry hogshead, a less common style of sherry cask that sits between the aromatic Amontillado and the nuttier, richer Oloroso. The nose brings honeyed malt, orchard and tropical fruit, dried apricots, orange peel, toasted almonds and polished oak. The palate has dried fruit, nuts, gentle sherry spice and light waxiness, leading to a long, dry finish with oak and aromatic spice.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
