A single cask Glenburgie from Speyside, distilled in 1997 and bottled on 5 September 2018 by Gordon MacPhail for its Connoisseurs Choice series. It is 20 years old and comes in a 70cl bottle at 59.9%.
The whisky matured in a single first fill sherry butt and was bottled without chill filtration or added colour. It is one of 596 bottles.
The nose offers sultanas, raisins, dates and stewed plums with nutmeg, cinnamon, dark chocolate and leather. On the palate, warming chilli and chocolate meet fruit cake, marzipan and liquorice. The finish is long, with oak turning to dried fruit.
