A 25-year-old Speyside single malt from Glenburgie, bottled by Douglas Laing in its Xtra Old Particular range. It was distilled in September 1997 and bottled in July 2023 from a single refill hogshead, cask DL17850, which gave 254 hand-filled bottles at a natural cask strength of 41%. It is bottled without colouring or chill filtration.
Glenburgie has traditionally been an important component of Ballantine's blends.
The notes describe dried apricots and milk chocolate on the nose, with floral fruit blossom and barley. The palate brings vanilla, orchard fruits, candied ginger and gentle spice, and the finish has subtle oak, peaches in syrup and toasted oats.
