Glenburgie – 25 Year Old Wilson & Morgan Barrel Selection (Distilled 1995, Bottled 2020) (70cl, 51.4%)

This is a 25 year old Speyside single malt from Glenburgie, distilled in 1995 and bottled in 2020 for the Wilson & Morgan Barrel Selection at 51.4% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. It spent its long maturation in a refill cask, so the influence of the wood is slow and the style gentle. Honey, mineral and waxy notes sit with a light floral character, and ripe tropical fruit shows in bananas, passion fruit and mango, along with vanilla and maple. Green tea and chamomile stand out on both nose and palate. A slightly peppery touch of tannin appears at the end of an otherwise velvety, fragrant whisky.
