This is a 27 year old Speyside single malt from Glenburgie, filled into a refill sherry butt in 1995 and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail on 7 March 2023 for its Connoisseurs Choice series. It is cask strength at 58.2% ABV, and 529 bottles were released.
The nose is rich with stewed raisins and blackcurrant jam, alongside mixed nuts, milk chocolate, toasted hazelnuts and liquorice. On the palate, vanilla custard gives way to fruit cake with a little clove, then baked apple, orange oil and blueberries. The finish is medium-bodied, with soft cocoa powder and dried fruits.
