This is a single cask Glenburgie from Speyside, distilled in 1989 and bottled in 2021 at 32 years old by Gordon & MacPhail in its Connoisseurs Choice range. It comes in a 70cl bottle at a cask strength of 55.2%.
The whisky matured in a refill American hogshead, which gave 160 bottles. It is bottled without chill filtration or added colour.
The nose opens with strong honey, followed by pineapple and a hint of mint. The palate is intensely sweet and spicy, with chilli, green apple and lemon arriving later. The long finish holds aromatic spice and lively citrus.
