This is a 10 year old Speyside single malt from Glenfarclas, distilled in 1999 and bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society as cask 1.150. It is one of 101 bottles from a single first-fill bourbon barrel.
It carries the Society's oldest label format, used from 1983 until 2006, and was released only in the USA, which is why it comes in a 75cl bottle rather than 70cl.
The nose finds freesias, dahlias and rose petals, with vanilla, honey, fruit gateau, banoffee pie and pear drops. The palate is fruity too, with dark chocolate, tobacco and a dry, woody heat.
