This is a 10 year old Speyside single malt from Glenfarclas, distilled in 2012 and bottled by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society as cask 1.277. It comes from a single first-fill bourbon barrel, which gave 220 bottles, and is bottled at a cask strength of 59.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The nose brings tangerines, carnations, toffee and honeycomb, with cherry-scented pipe tobacco and a hint of petrol. On the palate come ginger biscuits, salted caramel ice cream, violet sweets, dark chocolate, cinnamon, nutmeg and singed orange skin. With water, hot cross buns with five spice and rum-soaked sultanas appear. The finish has orange bitters, mature oak and fine tannins.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
