This is Glenfarclas 10 Year Old, a single malt bottled exclusively for Marks & Spencer, the UK supermarket chain, in a 70cl bottle at 42.5% ABV.
The colour is a deep russet amber gold. On the nose, oloroso sherry comes through with sweet red fruits, dry leather and nutty aromas.
The palate brings chocolate-covered raisins, smooth malted barley and a strong toffee and honey sweetness with hints of hazelnut. The finish is medium in length, like dark chocolate melting slowly, with a little coffee-like bitterness. It is slightly rough and may benefit from a drop of water.
