Glenfarclas – 10 Year Old Single Malt (40%)

This is a 10-year-old Glenfarclas single malt bottled at 40%, matured entirely in oloroso sherry casks. These are old butts and hogsheads made from European oak, with the wood coming from Jerez. Glenfarclas is a family-owned Scottish distillery, in the hands of the Grant family since 1865, and it fires its stills directly. The nose has plenty of sherry with honey and hints of caramel and barley. The palate offers dried fruit and spice, a suggestion of caramel tart and light smoke. The finish brings more spice and a hint of oak.
