This is an 8 year old Glenfarclas 105 from the 1980s, a Speyside single malt bottled at a cask strength of 60% ABV. It comes in a 750ml bottle. The age statement was part of the Glenfarclas core range in the 1980s and early 1990s, unlike the modern 105 without one.
The nose has wet dunnage oak, sherry-soaked wood, malt, cereal and damp hay, with cider apple skin and a little seawater. The palate is malty and herbal, with citrus zest, pepper, clove, stewed plums, orange peel and fig. The finish is medium in length, with allspice, cinnamon, damp oak and a whisper of smoke.
