Glenfarclas – 105 Cask Strength (Stripe Label) (6cl, 60%)

This is Glenfarclas 105, the 105 proof cask strength bottling, in the older stripe label edition produced between 2004 and 2008. It is bottled at 60% ABV and is a full amber colour with a pronounced sherry character. The nose starts on soy sauce, cooked game and black toffee, with sweet and sour notes, tropical fruit such as guava and a winey side that develops with time. On the palate there is caramel and dried orange, with apricot, quince and mirabelle and plenty of sherry. The finish is long and balanced.
