Glenfarclas – 105 Cask Strength (70cl, 60%)

Glenfarclas 105 is a cask strength single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 60%. Its history traces back to 1968, when George S Grant chose to cask Glenfarclas at natural strength as a Christmas gift for family and friends. That cask measured 105 British proof, which gave the whisky its name. Today the distillery selects casks from its warehouses and vats them together without adding water, keeping the strength constant. The nose offers oak, ripe apples and pears, and a dark toffee sweetness. The palate is dry and assertive, turning spicy, with sherried fruit and a touch of oak. The finish is smooth and warm, with a lingering smokiness.
