Glenfarclas – 105 Cask Strength (60%)

A cask strength single malt from Glenfarclas, matured mainly in sherry casks and bottled at 60%. The 105 refers to the old British proof scale, where 105 degrees equals 60%. Glenfarclas 105 is recorded as the first cask strength single malt to reach the market. It was first released in 1968. The nose is apples, pears and chocolate toffee. The palate is very intense, with dry oak and spice, a touch of sherry cask character, and some almonds and honey.
