Glenfarclas 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky matured entirely in Oloroso sherry casks, bottled at 43% ABV in a 750ml bottle. Glenfarclas is a family-owned distillery at the foot of Ben Rinnes in Ballindalloch, and its stills are heated by direct gas firing rather than steam coils.
The nose is light and creamy, with soft sherry sweetness, honey, a hint of smoke, oak, pine resin and cinnamon apples with orange peel. The palate is medium-bodied, with date and walnut cake, pronounced Oloroso influence, toffee apple, vanilla, banana, peach and apricot. The finish is long and spicy, with allspice, cinnamon, cloves and orange zest over dry oak.
