Glenfarclas – 12 Year Old (70cl, 43%)

Glenfarclas 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt matured in sherry casks and bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. That fits a distillery that stores its whisky almost exclusively in sherry wood. Glenfarclas was founded in 1836 and is one of three distilleries still in old family ownership. John Grant bought it in 1865, and his descendants still own it. It now runs six stills. Sherry and fruit aromas lead, with chocolate and caramel, orchard fruit, berries and vanilla.
