This is Glenfarclas 12 Years Old, a Speyside single malt matured for at least 12 years in sherry casks. It is amber in colour and bottled at 43% ABV, neither chill-filtered nor coloured.
Sherry dominates its character, and it won a gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2016.
The nose is fresh and light, with fruity sherry, spicy sweetness and a touch of juicy oak. The palate is full-bodied, with fruity sherry, oak, a slight hint of peat and sweet notes. The finish is long, with lingering spice.
