A 13 year old Speyside single malt from Glenfarclas, distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2026 by the Scotch Malt Whisky Society as 1.304, part of its Creators Collection. One of 206 bottles, in a 70cl bottle.
It spent its first 10 years in an ex-bourbon barrel before moving to a first fill American oak Pedro Ximenez hogshead. Its colour was likened to a sunset in Sanlúcar de Barrameda.
The nose brings a mild, light-bodied cigar, maple cinnamon-roasted hazelnuts and oregano essential oil. On the palate there is pineapple flambéed in rum, roasted chestnuts with nutmeg butter and maple cinnamon strawberry jam, with cracked black pepper in the finish. Water brings out Mediterranean spices, pine resin and lemon zest.
