Glenfarclas – 15 Year Old Cheltenham Festival Edition (70cl)

This is a 15 year old Glenfarclas single malt in a 70cl bottle, released to mark the distillery's sponsorship of Cheltenham Racecourse. It is limited to 3,000 bottles. The label lists the 15 past winners of the Festival's Glenfarclas Cross Country Steeple Chase, in chronological order, and mirrors the label on the 3 litre bottle given to the winning owner and trainer. It is the first of three releases celebrating the distillery's renewed sponsorship of the Cross Country races over the next three years. The nose is light butterscotch with a touch of dried fruit. The palate is full-bodied, balancing sherried sweetness, malt and peat. The finish is long, richly sherried, sweet and delicately smoky.
