Glenfarclas – 15 Year Old (46%)

Glenfarclas 15 Year Old is a single malt matured in sherry casks and bottled at 46%, a little higher than the other bottles in the distillery's core range. Glenfarclas has been in the hands of the Grant family since 1865, and its water comes from a small spring on Ben Rinnes. The distillery fills its casks with spirit that has matured in former sherry casks, which are sourced from Spain. The nose combines brown sugar and dried apricots with chocolate cake. On the palate it is full-bodied, with dried fruit, sweet sherry and malt, and the sherry carries into a finish of sweetness and spice.
