Glenfarclas – 15 Years (70cl, 46%)

Glenfarclas 15 Years is a Speyside single malt, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery is owned by J. & G. Grant, and the Grant family has run it since 1865, now in its sixth generation. Its slogan is 'The Spirit of Independence'. The name translates as 'valley of the green grass', though for many whisky drinkers it simply means sherry. The 15 year old is bottled at this higher strength because it was the way the present owners' grandfather liked to drink it.
