Glenfarclas 17 Year Old is a Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 43%. The distillery at Ballindalloch has been independently owned by the Grant family since 1865 and uses direct-fired stills.
The whisky is aged exclusively in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks and has a glowing amber-gold colour.
The nose is sherried, with dark raisins, dried fruit, honeycomb, malted barley and warm baking spices. The palate is full-bodied, with fruitcake, dark chocolate, toasted nuts, orange marmalade and gentle wood tannins. The finish is long, smooth and spicy.
