This is an 18 year old Speyside single malt from Glenfarclas, in a 4.5 litre bottle.
Glenfarclas is one of Scotland's few remaining family-owned distilleries, run by the Grant family for six generations. Its whiskies are matured predominantly in Oloroso sherry casks.
The nose is rich, with sherried fruit, butterscotch, caramel, raisins, dates and a little citrus and nut. The palate is full-bodied, with sweet sherry, dried fruit, spice and oak, and vanilla, cocoa and baking spices building gradually. The finish is long and smooth, with oak, gentle spice and nutty sherried sweetness.
