Glenfarclas – 190th Anniversary (70cl, 51.4%)

A single malt released by Glenfarclas to mark 190 years of distilling, and the last of its Anniversary Trilogy. It is bottled at 51.4% ABV, which was 90 proof under the British system used at the distillery for its first 154 years. The whisky draws on spirit from five decades: fruitier character from the 1970s, rich sherried flavours from the 1980s and 1990s, and toffee and caramel from casks laid down in the 2000s. 15,000 bottles were released worldwide. It is described as smooth, rich and velvety, with green apples, sherry sweetness and spicy Christmas cake, and a long finish with dark chocolate and fresh tobacco.
