A 58 year old single cask Glenfarclas from Speyside, distilled in 1955 and bottled at 45.4% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It belongs to the Family Casks range, which Glenfarclas launched in 2007 with single cask, vintage single malts.
The nose is aromatic and slightly astringent, with herbal notes, eucalyptus oil, smoky toffee, acetone, dark chocolate and espresso. The palate is thick and warming, with smoked meats, charcoal, mixed fruits and dark toffee. The finish is quite long and robust, with big oak.
