This is Edition No. 26 from Glenfarclas, a 28-year-old Speyside single malt from the 1996 vintage, named after Rob Roy MacGregor. It matured entirely in sherry casks and is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, with 1800 bottles in the release. Glenfarclas is a family-owned distillery, held by the Grant family since 1865, and its whiskies are matured almost exclusively in former Oloroso sherry casks. The notes describe a round, sweet and well-balanced malt. Sherried fruit, orange slices, berries and grapes come with pastry, nut brittle and spice. The medium-length finish brings ripe fruit, ending sweet with walnut shells and a little oak.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
