A 24-year-old Glenfarclas distilled in 2000, and the third release in the Generations series of decanter bottlings from Pol Roger Portfolio. It is bottled at 47.4% ABV in a 700ml decanter, at natural colour.
The whisky comes from a single first-fill sherry butt, the twelfth cask filled on 1 January 2000, when the Grant family and staff filled a few casks with the first spirit of the new millennium. Only 600 decanters were filled.
The nose opens with sherry, nutty and sweet with cognac-like vapours, then moves to spice, cinnamon and nutmeg, with hints of fresh Seville oranges.
