This is a single cask Glenfarclas from the Family Cask series, a 2008 bottled at a cask strength of 59.9%. It matured entirely in a first fill sherry cask, number 664, and is non-chill-filtered. 237 bottles were filled.
The nose is full and intense, with dark chocolate, raisins, figs, deep sherry, roasted nuts, caramelised sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. The palate is oily, with sherry sweetness balanced by dark espresso, leather and a little smoke. The finish is long, with oak and a touch of orange peel.
