Glenfarclas 21 Year Old is a Speyside single malt made at Ballindalloch. The distillery was founded in 1836 and bought by John Grant in 1865, and it has remained family-owned through six generations.
The malt is made from 100% malted barley and matured in dunnage warehouses, mainly in European oak ex-Oloroso sherry casks. It has a deep amber-gold colour.
The nose shows sherried and tropical fruit, nutmeg and almonds, with citrus, honey and soft leather underneath. The palate is full and round, with toffee, dark fruit, baking spices and vanilla cream. The finish is long and smooth, gently dry, with chocolate and trailing spice.
