Glenfarclas – 25 Year Old Decanter Series 4th Release Last Of The Millennium Cask 1999 (70cl, 51.2%)

This is the fourth release in the Glenfarclas Decanter Series, a 25 year old single cask sherry butt whisky filled on 31st December 1999, the last day of the millennium. It was hand-selected by Peter Donnelly, Director of the Pol Roger Portfolio, and marks a generational transition for the Grant family, who have owned the distillery for five generations. Bottled at 51.2% with natural colour and without chill-filtration, it comes in a 70cl Glencairn crystal decanter, one of 600 individually numbered bottles. The nose offers dried fruits, dark chocolate, toffee and subtle oak spice. The palate is full-bodied, with raisins, orange peel and toasted nuts, leading to a warm, lingering finish.
