This is a 25 year old single malt from Glenfarclas, a Speyside distillery run by the Grant family since 1865 and now in its sixth generation. The stills are heated by direct gas flame.
The whisky matured solely in Oloroso sherry casks for its full 25 years, and it is sold in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is classically sherried with a cooling touch of menthol. On the palate it is clean and tangy, with sherry, creamy barley, gingerbread and nutty chocolate. The finish is very long, with oak, cocoa, butter and a little smoke.
