A 25 year old Glenfarclas from the 1996 vintage, bottled on 4 June 2021 at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It matured in Oloroso sherry casks, as most Glenfarclas whisky does.
The distillery stands at Ballindalloch in Speyside and has been owned by the Grant family since 1865.
The nose is rich in sherry, with dark fruit such as cherries, blackberries and raisins, cask spice, sweetness, jam, caramel and honey. The palate is full and sherried, with Amarena cherries, honey, almonds, caramel and gentle bitter chocolate. The finish is long and soft, with cherries, dark chocolate, oak spice, honey and caramel.
