Glenfarclas 25 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from the family-run Grant distillery, part of its Classic Range. It is matured entirely in Oloroso sherry casks and bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle, without chill-filtration or added colour. The amber tone with dark gold highlights is natural.
John Grant travels to a family-run bodega in Spain to select the European oak casks that previously held Oloroso sherry. The whisky has a full body, with sherry and oak in balance.
The nose brings marmalade, honey, freshly ground coffee, sherry and nuts, with fine oak tannins. The finish is long, dry and malty, leaving dark chocolate behind.
