Glenfarclas matures its whisky entirely in sherry casks that previously held Oloroso or Fino from Spain, typically 250-litre hogsheads or 500-litre sherry butts.
This bottling is described as a Christmas cake in a glass, with sherry, cognac, eau-de-vie, fruit, nuts and marzipan. The finish stays long, with roasted chocolate at the back of the palate.
