This is a 40 year old Glenfarclas single malt from Speyside, matured in sherry casks and bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
It was first launched at the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival in 2010 and has since been discontinued. The 46% strength sets this version apart from the later bottling at 43%, which comes in a red box. It is described as rich in fruit, and it won a gold medal at the Malt Maniacs Awards in 2010.
