Glenfarclas – 40 Years (70cl, 43%)

This is a 40-year-old single malt from Glenfarclas, a Speyside distillery near the village of Marypark, about a mile from the River Spey. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The whisky spent all forty years maturing in Oloroso sherry casks. The distillery's history goes back to 1836, and the Grant family of J. & G. Grant bought it in 1865. The sixth generation of the family now runs it.
