A 9 year old Glenfarclas from The Family Casks series, distilled in 2014 and matured in a single sherry cask, number 2009. It was bottled in June 2023 at 60.2% ABV, in a 70cl bottle, and yielded 301 bottles.
This is Nico's Choice, a Switzerland exclusive bottled for Nico Bernasconi. The whisky has a mahogany colour.
The nose is sweet, fruity and nutty-dry, with a hint of raisins. The palate has strong but balanced sherry notes, raisins, honey sweetness and a little oak. The finish is long, with sherry, caramel and toffee, then bitter chocolate, coffee and fine roasted notes.
