This Glenfarclas Family Cask single malt was distilled in 1957 and bottled on 15 July 2008. It comes from a single sherry hogshead, cask number 2, and only 94 bottles were produced at 46.2%.
The nose is rich, with powerful tannins, concentrated sherry, brewed coffee and a hint of liquorice. With air, macadamia nut emerges.
The palate is dense and opulent, with spirit-soaked fruit, an initial bitterness followed by a delicate sweetness, and double-espresso notes. The finish is long, with bitter dark chocolate and intense coffee.
